The White's SurfMaster PI Dual Field is a Pulse Induction detector. That makes it excel in mineralized ground conditions, like a salt-water beach. It would be fine on the dry sand as well. As far as land usage; the PI detectors do not offer any type of target ID, and generally have a slow recovery speed.

First of all, let me preface my remarks by saying that 2 and a half weeks is probably not enough time to give an accurate review about the remarkable capabilities of the White's Surf PI Dual Field. Secondly, I am a novice detectorist, so my insight into the more technical aspects of the Dual Field will also be limited.
